A few weeks ago, our partners Alberto Díaz, Jesús Puerta, Daniel González and Antonio Pérez were doing restoration and recovery works in some unique trees in Priego de Córdoba (Andalusia).
Here you have a small summary with photographs of these great examples:
The town of Sax hosted last month the 1st Urban Tree Journey, aimed to professionals in the field (forest technicians, students, biologists, educators and environmental managers, area politicians, etc.)
It was a journey for debate and understanding, opening up new ideas and perspectives for better management and conservation of trees in cities.
Gerard Passola was one of the speakers of this Conference and spoke about the need for local administrations to take preventive measures, to promote the life of urban trees, instead of employing policies that are too protectionist.
Here is the video summary of his speech:
You can also see the lectures given by José Antonio Corraliza (specialist in environmental psychology) and Susana Domínguez (forestry engineer and president of Bosques sin Fronteras).
We show you another recent project: a commission of Parcs i Jardins de Barcelona. A work of anchoring a singular palm of the house Ardiaca, as you see very close to the Cathedral. It is a palm with risk of falling that needs a complex anchorage to secure it.
Samuel Alvarez and Gerard Passola realized test of risk of overturn and valuation of the condition of Singular Trees for the Town hall of Vitoria last December.
It is one of the most complex studies that are realized in the analysis of the risk of the woodland.
One of the jobs we do from Doctorarbol is to place lightning rods on singular trees that need it, like this Secuoia of Pamplona. We were working there a few weeks ago. You can see the process a bit in these photographs:
